So where's NADAL now? I remember someone here ranting and raving that NADAL will soon overtake Federer...?

From which prophecy did he get that? Maybe from some old deranged prophet...

Roger at 26 is beating everybody!

Nadal is a one-time phony only good in clay. He's injured? WHy? Because of the way he plays. In two years time, he'll no longer be as fast as he can and will soon disappear into the brink of oblivion...So where's NADAL now? I remember someone here ranting and raving that NADAL will soon overtake Federer...?
Nadal is strong talented young player and it is obvious he is getting better in other surfaces than clay and when he recover from his injury that old injury that come back again he will be better than beforeSo where's NADAL now? I remember someone here ranting and raving that NADAL will soon overtake Federer...?
Nadal may never overtake Federer, but I definitely admire him for his agressive style of play. Fed is definitely gifted, but I think Nadal has struggled much more to get where he is. As for the injury, not only is his play to blame, but he is a big guy, and knee injuries are always a problem for heavier, more muscular athletes. There is a smaller clay tournament coming up, maybe he will show up?? Maybe he'll just take the time to heal...who knows?
Only good on clay? Are you serious? He twice were in the final of Wimbledon. Last time he took Roger to a five sets match. When was the last time anyone took Roger to a five sets match on grass? Roger is #1 but nadal is #2, he deserves some respect. I am a Roger Federer fan but I won't put Rafael Nadal or Djokovic down just because they can't beat Roger Federer. He is not a one time phony, he won the French Open three times, that is not luck, one time is luck, three times is not luck.
you never know.......
Nadal is good on every surface, it's just that he's injured now. I wonder if he has any idea about pacing himself for the long haul? He just grinds all year, and about the time of the US Open his body is toast. It happened last year at this time also. Then next Spring, after he's recovered, he suddenly begins dominating, winning the French, finals at Wimbledon, beating Federer on hard courts, etc.

I think he'll be right back in it early next year. Maybe he'll learn to pick his spots and not play for months at a time now.
Federer is leading Nadal by 2220 points now, in the rankings. Good, I say!!!! Nadal is the beast to Federer's beauty.
I think he was last seen selling baloons on some street corner in spain////
Rafa's poor physical condition in the US Open resulted from overplaying. He kept at it with very limited breaks between tournaments. Federer is very crafty in choosing which tournament he plays in. He ensures that he always gets a tune up on a specific surface before a slam, but not too close to it. That way he always peaks during the 2 weeks of a slam and can dominate everyone else who's not in peak form.

If Rafa can learn to pace himself and be more selective in when and where he plays, he'll go much farther later in the year. This US Open Ferrer ran Rafa ragged, yet Rafa is known for chasing down shots. It's all about conserving yourself.
I agree that Rafa always does poorly at the US Open because of how banged up he is by the end of the year. However, unfortunately he is in even worse shape this time then he was last year. That makes me think that he will probably take a little more care next year and ease off a bit, and return really strong in 2009, when Roger's dominance starts to evaporate. There could be a really good rivalry in the making between Novak and Rafa for #1 in the emerging post-Federer era.
in year or two nadal will take over
As long as Roger is playing, Nadal will never overpass him and my prediction is that Djokovic will pass Rafa in the next year or so.
